Facts about Possilpark Secondary.
Around 1890, the first Possilpark Secondary was built. In 1933, the senior secondary was built in Balmore Road. The new Possilpark Secondary was built at Carbeth street in two phases starting in 1964 and 1969.
The Mitchell Library City archives hold information on Possilpark Secondary. (I found none on the web or at the local Library.) Archives Tel. No. 0141 287 2910. Its only open Monday to Friday, Business hours. They have Possilpark School mags 1966 to 1970. They have some class photos 1963-64, 1964-65, and 1970-71 Ref: ED7/169/5/1,2, and 3. They also have admissions information and register log books.
If anyone has old class photos scanned could they possibly e-mail one to me and I'll try and put it on the site. I would like to see a photo to find out who the photographers were (if anyone knows could they inform me). Unlikely, but there may still be copies in the photographers files.

I've had great difficulty finding out about Possilpark. I've tried the web, the Glasgow room at the Mitchell Library, and the local Library: with little success. Can you please tell me what aspects of Possilpark Secondary you most want to find out about. I'm most interested in old pictures. There was a site for people interested in School research (UK Schools Interests), but it is not in operation just now.
Photocopies from the Mitchell City Archives cost £0.50, Photographs of photographs cost £6.10 upwards. It costs £5.00 to have a photo scanned and e-mailed (that hasn't previosly been scanned).
