Two Poems from Now and Then (Possilpark School mag for Spring, 1967)

Autumn Leaves

The leaves are falling,
The trees are bare,
The grass turns brown most everywhere.
I take a stroll right through the woods,
As I kick the falling leaves I look about.
No, no one is there
I run, I skip, I hop
Right through the leaves as they fly most everywhere.
And I suddenly stop to think how lovely it would be
If a picture could be painted of the leaves and me.

Spring

The Spring is here,
Nice and clear,
And all the birds are whistling.
Children can sing, even I can sing
To the sweet mellow note of the birds

The Scope Magazine for Possilpark Secondary 1969 was second in the Scotsman Newspaper School Mag of the year.
There is an article (and a photo) about Pamela Quinn who was intending to do acting. There are pictures from a fashion show. Ruth Maxwell of 1k and Letitia Mann of 1a modelled a trouser suit and a waistcoat suit at the Simplicity fashion show in April. Christine Gunning showed a clever adaptation of dungrarees in gaberdine.
Unfortunately, the photocopies I have are not good enough to scan into the website.
The Mitchell library were not at all helpful when I asked them to improve the quality of the pics. I ended up having to complain, but got nowhere.
